Collin Manickum is a senior management executive with over 30 years of experience across manufacturing, biotechnology, chemicals, and FMCG industries. He has a strong focus on aligning business strategy to execution to improve efficiency, productivity, and long-term sustainability.
In his role as Chief Operations Officer at Onderstepoort Biological Products, he leads the production, engineering, maintenance and utilities functions. He is responsible for ensuring vaccine availability, operational stability, and strategic growth. He has driven significant operational improvements, including increased production output, reduced downtime, improved quality performance, and strengthened maintenance systems
Prior to this, he held senior roles at Anheuser-Busch InBev and the South African Breweries, focusing on production management and operational improvement across Africa. His early career includes laboratory management, shift operations, development chemistry, and lecturing roles at the University of South Africa and Mangosuthu Technikon.
He holds an MBA (cum laude) from the University of Stellenbosch, an MSc and BSc Honours from the University of Natal, and a certificate in Total Quality Management with distinction. He is also trained in ISO standards, Lean methodologies, and Six Sigma (Green Belt), and is a member of the Institute of Directors South Africa.
