Vaccines
- 1153 |
|
Freeze-dried, attenuated (rough) strain of Salmonella
gallinarum. For the prophylactic immunisation of
fowls and turkeys against fowl typhoid. Store
vaccine in a refrigerator at a temperature of 4 °C
to 8 °C.
Do not use after the expiry date printed on the bottle.
RECOMMENDATIONS FOR USE
Immunise birds at the age of two months and NOT at an
earlier age. Adult birds at risk should also be
vaccinated if there is a risk of contracting the natural
disease.
Vaccinate after the official B.W.D.-typhoid test has been
done. WARNINGS
Do not slaughter poultry for human consumption within
seven days of vaccination.
Vaccinate healthy animals only.
Keep out of reach of children, uninformed persons and
animals.
Only one inoculation is sufficient to produce an effective
immunity for 9–12 months. Revaccination
within six months might interfere with serological tests.
For further information, please consult
your local veterinarian. Antibacterial medication, such
as nitrofurans or antibiotics, should NOT
be administered to the birds eight days preceding vaccination
and for at least three weeks
thereafter.
Although this product has been extensively tested under
a large variety of conditions, failure
thereof may ensue as a result of a wide range of reasons.
If this is suspected, seek veterinary
advice and notify the registration holder. DIRECTIONS
FOR USE Use only as directed.
Sterilise syringes and needles by boiling in water for
at least 15 minutes. Do not use disinfectants or
methylated spirits for sterilising either needles or syringes.
Use a separate sterile needle for each bottle
of vaccine.
The active ingredient of the vaccine is in the form of
a powder or pellet in a small bottle. By means of
a sterile syringe transfer approximately 1 ml of the 100
ml sterile diluent to the bottle containing the
freeze-dried vaccine. Mix properly until the powder is
dissolved, transfer this suspension back to the
remaining sterile diluent and again mix well by means
of the sterile syringe. The vaccine is now ready
for use and must be injected without delay. Keep the vaccine
cool and avoid high temperatures and
direct sunlight during inoculation. Shake the bottle well
before use. DOSAGE: 1,0 ml subcutaneously
(under the skin of the breast) EFFECTS
OF THE VACCINE
The vaccine does not cause any reactions in young birds
but in adult laying birds a slight, temporary
decrease in egg production can be expected. Immunity lasts
for 9–12 months and annual vaccination
is, therefore, recommended. Immunity, however, cannot
be guaranteed in all birds. PACKING
Available in bottles of 100 doses. |
