Freeze-dried vaccine containing the Kebete “O”
strain of attenuated Rinderpest virus for the prophylactic
immunisation of cattle against Rinderpest. Store
the vaccine in a refrigerator at a temperature of 4 °C
to 8 °C.
Do not use after the expiry date printed on the bottle.
RECOMMENDATIONS FOR USE
Calves from 4 months of age may be vaccinated with the
vaccine. Pregnant cows may also be vaccinated.
The vaccine confer lifelong immunity in animals if correctly
applied.
The vaccine is only available to Government institutions.
WARNINGS
Do not slaughter animals for human consumption within
7 days of vaccination.
Vaccinate healthy animals only.
Keep out of reach of children, uninformed persons and
animals.
Although this product has been extensively tested under
a large variety of conditions, failure
thereof may ensue as a result of a wide range of seasons.
If this is suspected, seek veterinary
advice and notify the registration holder. DIRECTIONS
FOR USE Use only as directed.
Sterilise syringes and needles by boiling in water for
at least 15 minutes. Using a sterile syringe, transfer
approximately 5 ml of diluent to the bottle of freeze-dried
vaccine. When completely dissolved transfer
the contents back tot the bottle with the remaining diluent
and shake well. The vaccine is now ready for
use. Shake the bottle each time before filling the syringe.
Avoid exposure to high temperatures and direct
sunlight during inoculation. DOSAGE:
1 ml intramuscularly EFFECTS OF THE VACCINE
A mild fever reaction of short duration may follow from
the fourth day following vaccination. The vaccine
will not necessarily confer absolute immunity to all animals.
